Talk:993 (1994 - 1998)
From pcarworkshop
Hey guys, I am interested in setting up the 964 section and one of the things I want to do is to redirect sections from the 964 to existing 993 articles when they are applicable. I would like, however, a little header that says something like "you have been redirected to a 993 article since the process is very similar." I, obviously, know how to link directly to a 993 article. Any ideas on how to have a little header when linked there from the 964 area? Thanks. -JD Long
Hi JD,
Do you mean a pop-up message or one in the link? You could label the link with the message and have it direct to the 993 page for example. Something like:
Is that the idea?

Mike

Mike, I was thinking something like in Wikipedia when you get redirected to a listing for one thing when you type in another. For example, go to Wikipedia and type in 'Kafka', sans quotes. You get a listing for Franz Kafka and a little blurb that says "redirected from Kafka." If you type in Franz Kafka you don't get the redirect blurb. I looked at the source and it has something like {{redirect|Kafka}} in the header. I'll research the redirect tag.

I researched it and found this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Redirect
That's what I will do with some of the 964 stuff. I'll just redirect it to the 993 page if it is the same.
I tried it and it works! http://www.pcarworkshop.com/index.php/964_-_Brake_Flush_and_bleeding
